Our tours are designed to not only give you a memorable sea kayaking experience but also an authentic Croatian experience. Croatia offers an incredible array of treasures to travellers, from a 1778 km coastline with 1185 offshore islands with crystal clear seas and unspoilt fishing villages, to vineyards, Roman ruins and medieval walled cities, not to mention a delicious Mediterranean cuisine to accompany the best of fine wines. Itinerary
DAY 1….The tour starts with a transfer from the airport to Dubrovnik and then by ferry to the island of Lopud, one of the Elafiti chain of islands north – west of Dubrovnik. We will arrive in time for dinner and settle in to our accommodation. The village is very picturesque with stone houses nestled in a secluded bay and some interesting 16th century monasteries and churches. There are some lovely walks around the island with spectacular sea views.
DAY 2….A local Croatian breakfast will start the day right. Our first kayaking trip will be along the coastline of Lopud from the village of Sunj, to the small offshore island of St. Andrew, returning in the afternoon after lots of breaks for swimming ,snorkelling, and lunch at a lovely sandy beach. We will have dinner at a local restaurant and a deservedly restful evening.
DAY 3….The kayaking commences after breakfast with a paddle to Kolocep Island. Kolocep offers pebble beaches, olive groves, and orange and lemon orchards as well as ancient pine forests. From our kayaks, we will also be able to access an amazing underwater cave. The paddling will be skirting the coast at a comfortable pace, and there will be breaks for a picnic lunch, swimming, snorkelling, and exploring. We will have dinner at one of the local restaurants and relax for the evening.
Day 4…. Today we will be kayaking from Lopud Island to the island of Sipan, one of the largest in the archipelago, and favoured by the Dubrovnik aristocracy in the 15th century. We will paddle to the small villages of Trsteno and Brsecine on the mainland for lunch, and then on to Sudjarev, where we will leave the boats and travel by land to our base at Sipanska Luka.
DAY 5….After breakfast we will return to our boats and paddle up the outer coast for the day and finish up in Sipanska Luka, on the north west shore. The town offers a Roman villa and a 15th century Gothic Duke’s palace for exploration.
DAY 6….From our base in Sipanska Luka, we will paddle northwards to Jaklan Island, part of a chain of small islands, explore and stop for a swim or snorkel, and then return on the outer side of the islands. We will have our last island dinner in the evening and bask in the glory of our achievements!
DAY 7….We will transfer to Dubrovnik and do a half-day paddle to Lokrum Island, passing under the magnificent city walls which have successfully protected the city for 600 years. In the afternoon we will have a guided tour of the old city, followed by a farewell dinner in an authentic local restaurant.
DAY 8….Today is free for shopping, exploring and sightseeing and our tour ends with a transfer back to the airport for flights.
* Each days paddling will be run at a comfortable pace, including lots of breaks, and with the option of taking it a bit easier, or exploring a bit further depending on the individual. * The daily trips will always be subject to the possibility of some change, depending on weather conditions. However, we will do our utmost to ensure that we provide a great day of kayaking everyday. * Individual needs, both in terms of kayaking and food/living needs will be accommodated as much as possible. * All abilities catered for as we have the freedom to split the group on the water.

Some comments on our Croatia Trip
"Just a quick note to say thanks for a brilliant holiday. Croatia certainly delivered on its promise of fabulous scenery, great food, and genuinely warm and friendly people. Dubrovnik is a fascinating city - good call on the extra night there! The equipment Ivana and Eddy supplied was first rate, Nada's welcome got everything off to a great start, and Pero's local knowledge was invaluable. Your organisation of the trip as a whole, guidance and instruction on the water, and democratic decision-making on activities was perfect: plenty of great paddling, time for individual exploring, and a relaxed and carefree schedule, with the logistics of moving our baggage around practically invisible thanks to Maria - and the boys, no doubt! And what a diverse yet compatible group of people to spend a week with. All in all, a fantastic holiday. Hvala!" From: Gerry Kelly ( Dublin) |
