Kayaking for Kids and Teens


Kids and Teens  Summer Kayaking:

For 2012 Our camps will be three full day.
Kids Kayaking:
This year we are delighted to offer kayaking camps for kids of different ages and different abilities. .
We will split the group according to their age and abilities and progress them through the levels.
So if you were with us before we will assess you during the first day and then make sure you are challenged and progress with your learning over the week.
The course is designed with safety and fun in mind .
Some of our time is spent on land as well as on water.
Some of the skills we will be covering during the week will be:
Safety on and off the water such as the importance of buoyancy aids, dressing for the conditions – Kayaking skills: forward and backward paddling –sweep strokes –stern rudders –draw strokes –rescues –towing –games – capsizing -weather awareness. Dates and times Location Type of camp:

During the course we place a big emphasis on environmental awareness and flora and fauna of the area.
Land drills and fun as well as kayaking on the water are a big part of our summer fun.

Teenage Kayaking;
We realise our teens needs .. With this in mind, our week will be challenging, educational and of course fun. Learning new strokes, about tides and weather, trip planning ,  rescues and team leading are some of what we will be covering over the week. On completion of a weeks course you will then be assessed for Irish Canoe Union Certification..
There is an additional charge of €6 for an ICU certificate.

FAMILY TRIPS
Trips are available from 2.00am - 4.00pm or 4.00pm - 6.00pm.every day July and August.
Have Fun with your kids.
Double and single kayaks used.
Minimum Age 4 yrs
Price: Adults €30 Kids under 16yrs. €15

FAMILY SAFETY TRIP More and more families are buying kayaks for summer fun. This has prompted us running these classes to ensure that safety is foremost in everyones minds. We cover the basic rescue drills, safety considerations, as well as ways to prevent an accident happening How often do you hear adults saying "They will be safe. I will be watching them"
Here is your chance to be actively involved with your kid's safety on the water.
We run a 2 hour safety course for families who have or are getting their own boats.
It is fun and educational.
Price : Adults 30euro . Kids under 16yrs. 15euro.
