Explore the Coast and Marine Life along the South West of Ireland by Sea Kayak
The Lakes of Killarney. Dingle Bay, Valentia Island , Kenmare Bay ,The Old Head of Kinsale, Bantry Bay, Carberys Hundred Isles. The Barrow river. If these names light a deep down adventurous spark in you, then read on.
Atlantic Sea Kayaking are offering kayaking weekends in all of these areas over the spring and autumn. We stop on deserted beachs or islands along the way for lunch. We are very consious of the environment and observe the wild life with as little disturbance as possible.
These trips will be suitable for all levels of paddlers beginners and experienced.
The group will be split on the water according to their abilities.
We usually cover 6 - 10 miles in a day .
We have double and single kayaks available. So if you wish to bring a nervous beginner or just wish to share the experience with a friend then there is no problem, as they can share a double with you and eventually they may even try a single.
Also suitable for visually impaired with a sighted partner
Get fit and keep your carbon footprint to a minimum. All of our trips take an eco friendly approach to the environment . Our motto is " Take only memories and pictures, leave only foot prints."
These trips are based on fun, exploration and enjoying the environment.
Also during the trips our instructors will be offering advise and of course looking after your safety at all times.
Some of the skills we will be covering on the trips:
Safety and weather understanding, charts, Forward paddling , Reverse paddling, Sweep strokes, draw strokes, low brace turn, trip planning, strokes, effect of the wind on the kayak. towing, rescue, marine nature.
But mainly the day is to have a great deal of fun, in a glorious marine or river environment in safety.
