The Stars in the water

Sunday, August 16th, 2009 by Jim Kennedy

We drifted on the bioluminesence last night . I had never seen it so strong . Trails following our kayaks . Saturn above being passed by shooting stars . The gasps from our group as they soaked up the show was the only sound .   I love night trips.

Summer is here .

Ive been neglecting the blog of late . This is probably a sign that we are on the water a lot more.. Had an encounter with a young bottlenose dolphin lately found it beached and brought it to sea on the kayak. I hope it survived.   Ive just spent the last few days at the  Fastnet film festival in schull There is so much going on around here .  Went to a talk by Garry White  Deer from Oklahoma he is from the Chocktaw tribe.  Amazing guy could have listened to him all night and is an amazing painter.  Then not to mention the fiddle fair in Baltimore last week..

We had our own concert as well . We hosted our first house concert and had Tonic Strings from Switzerland playing a great night of music followed by an enjoyable kayaking meet the next day.. We are running some interesting trips over the next few weeks ..  Our next special outing is with the Dawn Chorus next week .. We will be out with the birds to  welcome the day beginning at  5am..  Then   kayoga day .. not to mention our singles trips..
Im off now to see Dog Tail soup in Schull . I am helping them out with their stage and lights .. Will update blog next week .

Keep the replys coming .
Stay safe on the water .

Congratulations to Sean Morley and all at the Golden Gate Sea Kayaking Symposium . It was a pleasure to be there. What a beautiful place and what a great success the event was.

I am now down in Mexico and doing some great kayaking and having many adventures. So far we have come across Blue , Fin , Hump Back and Sperm whales as well of course as many Dolphins and turtles . I will report in again in a few weeks , as today we head down South and will be uncontactable for two weeks. A reminder to you all check out our 09 Calendar for Kayaking and see if there is anything there to suit you .
Until next time
Adios
